Rehabilitation Associates, Inc. is a Physical Therapy provider. Our licensed physical therapists work with you one-on-one to create a customized plan suited just for you. We offer 30 minute sessions where you work the entire time with a physical therapist, not an aide. Throughout your sessions, the goal of our physical therapists is to help you improve physical function, relieve and control pain, and prevent further injury or impairment.
Physical Therapy can assist in improving:
- strength
- joint range of motion
- coordination
- endurance
- posture
- alignment
- body mechanics
- gait/walking
Our Physical Therapists use a variety of methods, including heat, ice, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and manual (hands-on) techniques to relieve pain and optimize mobility. We provide a wide range of exercises-passive, active, resistive, and isokinetic-to improve movement and strength.
We offer aquatic therapy as part of our Physical Therapy program to reduce the stresses of gravity when regular exercise is too painful, the effort of regular exercise takes more endurance than a person can muster, and/or in some post-operative situations.
Additionally, our physical therapists analyze gait problems and recommend and teach the use of assistive devices (canes, etc.) when they are needed. We fabricate and provide foot orthotics when appropriate. We also work closely with local orthotists and prosthetists when additional devices are needed to improve mobility.
