Occupational Therapy

Our pediatric occupational therapy department at Rehabilitation Associates, Inc. helps children and families work together to gain independence while assisting with the development of sensory processing, motor planning, eye-hand coordination, visual perception, handwriting, and self-care skills. Specially trained clinicians help children and families integrate these skills so that they are able to participate in activities in their home, school, play, and community environments.

An Occupational Therapy evaluation is used to analyze the child’s areas of strengths and need and how these abilities/disabilities impact participation in daily activities. The evaluation consists of in depth clinical observation, the use of various standardized tests, and information gathering from parent, child, school, etc. as appropriate. Our occupational therapists use fun, “kid-friendly” activities to address each individual child’s goals. Home activities are recommended so that gained skills can be reinforced between therapy sessions. Our clinicians have training in numerous areas. Please visit the FAQ page of our website to see a complete list.
